If you're thinking of buying a button maker, check out the button guy first!

There are a number of pitfalls when buying button makers or supplies but particularly with the original purchase of the button maker because you are putting all your eggs in that companies basket.

In most cases button parts ARE NOT interchangeable. You cannot buy a machine from Badge-A-Minit and put Tecre button parts in it, for example, and this goes right across the industry.

So before you buy, check the prices of the parts - not just the button maker. There are a flood of Chinese made button makers on the market and these not only have overpriced parts but the machines themselves have plastic parts and plastic bases. I have many of them in my shop for repairs! Be careful - There is no lifetime warranty on these machines!

Custom Button Orders:
Say it with a custom button! Button making is labor intensive and repetitive if you are producing larger quantities. (One person on average can make 1000 pin-back buttons in 8 hours.) So if you need 1000 buttons, you need a day. If you want 25,000 custom buttons, you need a month.
